Which is to say, that it would seem that there was not much genetic mixing between "Gaels" and the historic "British" tribes. Strictly speaking, if this turns out to be true, we will, in fact, be a different race - or at least as different as say North Africans from Scandinavians. For whatever that is worth - I don't give a shit about that - as far as I am concerned, we're all humans, and genetic "heritage" is only important in so far as it predisposes you to particular diseases.

Studying hard in school doesn't guarantee you won't be poor, but goofing off in school almost insures you will be. Same as being non-violent and honest doesn't guarantee a job, but no one will hire the violent and dishonest. Being poor doesn't make you a criminal, but being a criminal will keep you poor.
