I'm sure this will get moved, but this is a great article in the Minneapolis paper, that flies directly in the face of jonno, groper, and other ethnocentrics who claim the surge of gun sales is only fueled by the "nutters" who keep buying guns, and there aren't any new gun owners. That the record level NICS background checks are just the gun nutters stockpiling, and not new gun owners.

That is a flat out lie.

In fact, there are so many NEW gun owners, our ranges are overcrowded and several new ranges are being built. Also, shooting for a sport team in school, has also sky rocketed.

I took the time to scan this, since it's from the paper today, could have came out better, but it's more than readable.

The local rifle range is too crowded to go on weekends, only time to go is weekday mornings. Really don't want to be there when all the n00bs are there anyway, the lack of range discipline is scary, the range masters have their work cut out for them. It's a municipal range, the clientele isn't top drawer. There's a private indoor pistol range quite near me, it's not too crowded because of the membership fees, but you need to book at a day or two in advance to get a spot. I'm thinking of joining a private rifle and skeet range, it's a bit pricey but has really nice facilities. I'm not a clay shooter but I wouldn't mind taking it up, and they've got 50, 100, 200, 500 and 800 yard ranges.

MrJonno is pretty simple: People can't be trusted by the authorities. Consequently, he's for state regulation of every aspect of every life. Anything that tends to this, or even toward infrastructure for that grand eventuality, feels good to him.

In just any aspect of life human beings are assumed not to be competent to do anything that may endanger other people or their own until they prove otherwise, in other words presumed incompetence. Whether its practice medicine, drive a car,fly an aircraft, possess a gun etc.

I can guarantee the number of law abiding citizens in any place to Earth is going to be extremely close to zero, in safer areas people may be better at not getting caught but everyone breaks the law its just a case of how seriously
