Immigration: some 31 per cent of the population is thought to consist of recent immigrants, when the figure is actually 13 per cent. Even including illegal immigrants, the figure is only about 15 per cent. On the issue of ethnicity, black and Asian people are thought to make up 30 per cent of the population, when the figure is closer to 11 per cent.
Only. Only 15% !!
That's fuckin enormous in a little overcrowded Island. It's enough to keep the price of houses at a ludicrous high level, which means everybody is spending most of their lives working to pay for something that should be half of the price they paid.
Anyway, the survey doesn't say if they are including the CHILDREN of those recent immigrants. I have a strong suspicion that they aren't.
But the number of their children is entirely relevant. Without immigration, they wouldn't be here either.

If Britain had never had ANY significant immigration, this country would be a much nicer place to live. Houses would be much cheaper, and could be bigger, without the high demand for plots. And you wouldn't need to set a burglar alarm, every time you left the house.
While there is a market for shit, there will be assholes to supply it.

LOL. Good luck with that.
There ought to be a government ministry to ensure that the media is properly illuminating issues.

Yeah, but you blokes already live disproportionately cushy lives compared to most of the world, so it's only fair that you get taken down a few ticks to make it more equal in the world.

All those Normans, Angles and Saxons. If they hadn't migrated to Britain, it would be a great place.

Large parts of the UK are habitable and empty bar fields not tended by over subsidised farmers. There is plenty of room if we accept the country can no longer afford 'rural England'. Take any train or aircraft journey in the UK and you can't fail to see that

Feel the pain of the middle classes opposing any new house building because it will lower the price of their own. What ever you want to call that it sure isn't a free market in housing

Has someone accused Britain of having a free market in housing?

Isn't it completely rational to not want more housing since it would reduce the value of their existing property?
