Faslane Sub Base To Be "Sovereign Base Area"

Interesting. Looks like the Gov is exploring the idea of making the Faslane Naval Base, where the Trident nuclear subs are stationed, a sovereign base area along the lines of the British bases in Cyprus. If the Scotch vote for separation, they don't want these weapons in Scotland. The UK Gov won't want to build a new base, as that would cost a fat pile of cash. Declare Faslane a sovereign area and its no longer part of Scotland. Job done.

Some people really are getting their knickers in a twist about our potential independence, especially those who are not affected by it. Probably just the type of authoritarian scum drunk on the Daily Mail nostalgia myth versions of previous centuries. Like its the last bit of the empire finally telling them to fuck off.
