Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
It was one of this undoing things. Which is often impossible. The Tero report got hooked to my google account and listed my real name on every post. Google has no idea who Kari is.
Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
Ah. Evil Google strikes again. Hope the switch wasn't too much trouble.

Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
Me on some forum or other:
In developed countries, abortion is no longer needed as a way to control birth rates. But in the US these is an endless stream of immigrants. I should know. My parents brought me here, an only child. I was then lowering the population of Europe as well. But just in my 59 years, I have managed to double my family's reproductive rate! I have two kids!

I've stumbled on one of them rational believers. And he's a debater too. I'll just leave the topic.

I can't do these debates where there is nothing to debate.

I can't do these debates where there is nothing to measure.

Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
I gave it some more thought. Within the limited understanding of science most people have, it may be rational to believe in some kind of creator. But not the Bible myth.

Why don't we get any fundies anymore? Not even drive by fundies leaving some poop at our door.
Me to a fundie today:
It's like this: there is no evidence FOR intelligent design. You are seeing an agent where there isn't one.
Primitive man's mind evolved to look for an agent...or enemy..in everything. Intuition, not step by step process to an end. The quick thinking allowed survival. It was not made for science and engineering solutions.

Fundie attacking atheists with Twisted Sister We're Not Gonna Take It video. He is generally rude.
My response:
So? Millions of people are still thinking with a caveman brain which requires an agent

for everything. Grow up, get with the program. You are on your own, sky daddy is not there to help you.

Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
Fundie posted a Youtube video.
My response:
Why are we interested in your/borrowed thoughts on atheists?
My thoughts on theists: gullible individuals stuck on finding an "agent" for everything. It's what we evolved to think. Our brain takes short cuts. It's important to decide, otherwise the saber tooth tiger will get you.

Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
If it's going to be fashionable to be an atheist....well, I'm leaving. I don't want to be hip. I'll become a Unitarian again. I just can't hang out with Republicans.

Re: Tero's Atheist Ramblings
On the nature of god.
He is invisible and spiritual. Yet he poofs up matter out of nothing. Then he moves huge amounts of matter to create billions and billions of solar systems. And only one special planet.
*consults physics book*
Nope, nothing.
*consults comic book*
He's a force!

I must say that it is slightly more compelling than images in toast ||grin||.

Jesus has it good, he can appear on toasts in multiple continents. Mohammad tried the same but his followers have to destroy the toasts. Otherwise they end up in jail.
