Why not just put up the Presidents speech and say what you thought of it, CES? Quoting the telegraph, home of reactionary bigots with more tweed than brain cells, does your cause no good.

I don't know why he (Obama) keeps spouting this stuff. He rarely delivers. And as pointed out in other threads, he's more of a neocon than Bush was. America is fucked.

I assume you'll be asking anyone posting critical posts about other politicians to do the same and limit the discussion in that way.

I'm no more interested in Obama's opinion than the next man but I do find CES and his mania about / barely suppressed lust for Obama worth a chuckle.

I wouldn't have thought so, old thing. I don't know that anyone has quite the same level of obsession...

Neoconservatism is basically paleoliberalism, in the vein of JFK, Truman, Johnson and Hubert Humphrey. They are a reaction to what was the "New Left" and McGovern's faction of liberalism. I wonder sometimes at the strange hatred toward neoconservatism, since it shares the political philosophies of some of the guys that American liberals tend to worship. Neoconservatives = anti-communist liberals. They tend to support the New Deal "safety net" brand of welfare state, and they are generally cool with regulations and regulated markets, but they aren't cool with Marxism, communism, and Leftie politics as distinct from liberalism. Obama ain't no neoconservative.

You don't recall the parade of threads about Bush and then McCain and Romney, when those folks were prominent in the news?

99.9999% of all political speeches are total guff. Probably more.

Even were that true, what's the problem? It wasn't a problem for all the circle-jerking that went (goes) on about him from other folks....

The reality is that any criticism of Obama has folks charging to their love's rescue like knights to a damsel in distress. Why not just discuss the substance, instead of making the thread about me?

That should be the name of the next Bourne movie. The Bourne Disappointment.
