Shit like this really does make it to the newsCabbage Criminal Sentenced
11.6.2013
Words by Ingibjörg Rósa Björnsdóttir
A man has been sentenced to 30 days on probation and to pay 80.000 ISK compensation, for trying to steal 400 kg of cabbage.
The man had already lost his driving license when he drove his car into a cabbage field in Hrunamannahreppur in South Iceland, in the middle of the night in August 2012. His car got stuck in the mud and when trying to free it, the man caused a lot of damage to the crops, mbl.is reports.
He had also gathered a pile of about 400 kilos of cabbage behind the vehicle, which he meant to take with him from the field.
In court, the man represented himself and pleaded guilty instantly, as well as agreeing to compensate the owners of the field, for the damaged he’d done.
The district court of South Iceland, in Selfoss, sentenced the man on Tuesday for vandalism, theft attempt and a driving offence.

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.

Bah. Clearly he was lost, the highways in Iceland are indistinguishable from cabbage fields, got stuck and intended to build a cabbage road home.

Is cabbage criminal playing on savage criminal? You'd have to have a sense of humor to write the police blotter for that paper.

It starts with something simple like cabbages, but before you know it, carrots and parsnips are involved, and a life of foul, depraved crime has begun...
