If they bring in gun controls in the US, you can always move to the Yemen.

That is quite an odd assortment of countries...
There are many reasons for owning guns, some more murderous than others...
Murdering infidels in the name of Allah will be a factor in some of these countries.
Shooting moose will be a factor in others.
Some countries mix up the two, of course...

Switzerland, Finland, Cyprus (if anyone has reason to go mad and shoot people it's them), and Sweden. Four relatively non-violent countries and they make up 2/5ths of the top 10 in gun ownership? Hmm.. once again something is pointing to corrupt cultures of violence rather than the prevalence of guns.

To Fakuname, gun violence is a combination of culture of gun violence and availability of suitable guns, most especially hand guns. I think you will find that the countries with high gun ownership and low murder rate have low hand gun ownership.

Yes, it would be interesting to see a more detailed breakdown. I would suspect that the Scandinavian countries with relatively high levels of gun ownership have high proportions of hunting rifles, and relatively few hand-guns. This would have a big impact on the use of guns to murder other humans...

Sweden, Fibland and (slightly oddly) Cyprus still have big hunting traditions. Might explain some of this.

In Cyprus, the Turks hunt Greeks, and vice versa...
And both hunt bankers and government officials...
