I think Ani meant the event was a game-changer rather than the series.

Below is not totally spoilerish but worth hiding just in case.

Consider this. In the last series, Stannis Baratheon's failed attempt to the King's Landing was because he thought did not have the red god on his side, the one that apparenlty brings forth black demons and revives the dead, that when Melisandre returned with Gendry her bleeding ritual Stannis threw those leeches into the fire and said three names. Consider that the Red God is the god of fire and the White Walkers are of ice, that the title of the series is Song of Ice And Fire, that the T.V. series is called GAME of Thrones and you might begin to see that only two or three people in the entire series are not on the gameboard, but the players. I am saying nothing that could not be ascertained from what you have seen on the show.

yeah, but this is a fiction show. Not a doco. There's a reason why doco's only last an hour or two.

Because it's a serious game changer.

Lol, ok. That's easy to say. Breaking Bad is a real game changer. We'll see how this goes after they keep killing off the main characters. The one saving grace is that there's fuckloads of main characters. And the best actors (besides Sean Bean) are still in it.

Besides, killing off the stars on a regular basis keeps the salaries down. You know what happens when some series star decides he's indispensable...his agent starts asking for more money. This is the best way for the producers to control labor costs. "If you don't like the pay package, we'll just kill your character off and realign the plot." That's easy to do in a "blood & boobs" show like GOT.

Except that they've been faithful to the books, and George R. R. Martin wrote five before the show was out. It's possible the producers could have influenced his upcoming release but the show isn't even through the third book yet, if I've been told correctly .

Well I thought it was pretty visceral but yeah I don't get the weird butthurt going on either. No humans were harmed in the filming of that episode.

I saw it coming when all the revelers left the room with the new bride and groom. I find it a bit hard to believe that Rob didn't see it coming, given the radiating hostility of the King of the hall.
