As I've said elsewhere, the Muslim who tried to set off a bomb in the Illinois state capitol was a white guy. But then again, I don't see a lot of white folks around the local mosque. And yes, I do know that the definition of "white" is fluid and problematic.

Yeah. I'm an atheist's atheist in the sense that I don't agree with Amish people. But I'm in Tennessee of the Confederate U.S. My rights are never compromised because of Muslims. Women can walk around without being honor violated and so forth.

Weirdly, my fiance got asked if I was muslim because music was coming out of my house at regular intervals. I Rockband, Rocksmith, Just Dance, and generally play shit loud whenever I can. I didn't realize that was muslim-like.

I used to work near Pearson International (YYZ) and there's a huge mosque nearby with several dozen loudspeakers installed from which they'd play their chant/music/prayer shit at regular times every day. It was annoying as hell.

Yes, and this is why it is difficult to be robustly and publicly anti-Islam.

People will make quite natural assumptions that you are likely to be racist and anti-immigration, even though you may not be. And racists will make every effort to use the umbrella of anti-islamic sentiment as a cover or excuse for their racism.

It's not relevant, it's a bit off fluff they picked up on to deflect the impact from the Islamic community. They're clearly trying to make it a race issue and not a religious issue. And yes, that is more acceptable to Muslims. That's why they're doing it.

Because most Somalis are not caucasian, and I would guess that most English Defense League members are caucasian.

I think it has been reported that those suspected in the murder of Lee Rigby were from families of Somalian extraction, so if this is a revenge attack for Rigby's murder, as seems likely, the specific targeting of a Somali mosque may be purposeful.

Here Arabs and Persians are still not white. America even had a guy named Plecker who reduced the census race information to essentially white or colored. Only west Europeans were caucasian. Even American natives were colored. Arabs and Persians are definitely not white.
