There should be a ">" button to start the test, just below and to the right of the main block of text.

9 out of 10 :woot:

I know, you'd never guess it, considering how I write most of the time

The one I got wrong I just had no clue about: Modal/Gerund/Imperative. I knew it had to be Modal or Gerund since imperative has to do with mood rather than the kind of verb, but I guessed wrong. I guess I'll be more likely to remember now!

I got the modal/gerund one wrong too. I knew it wasn't an imperative, but couldn't remember what the hell modal and gerund meant.

Of course I'm coming down from a good high and a serious drunk from last night.. that's my excuse and you can take it to HR.

Modals are verbs such as may, will, can, ought, etc. that modify other verbs.

An imperative is a verb form that implies an immediate order or direction - such as: Duck! Shoot! Let's wank!

A gerund is the participle of a verb used as a noun - such as: The Shining. The Leaving of Liverpool. It's all the wanking that's caused that rash on your hand. :prof:

I got that one right. 'Which' is properly used to...do something... 'That' on the other hand...does something slightly different.

The one with the "gerund" in it did me in. Even though i knew broadly what a "gerund" was, and didn't know what the other ones were, I still missed the gerund in the sentence.
Both gerunds (vb + ing) and infinitives (to + vb) are verbals, which function as nouns, but are not to be confused with the character from The Usual Suspects. :prof:
You missed the gerund because it is Keyser Soze.
The biggest trick the sentence ever played was convincing the world the gerund didn't exist.
