Black Market Handicapped Guides to Cut Lines at Disney

Post by Coito ergo sum » Tue May 14, 2013 4:12 pm

http://www.nypost.com/p/news/local/manh ... Vc1zItXGDP

These folks should be smacked silly.

LOL --

Rich "moms" (I don't know why they are blaming the moms -- are the dads not in on it?) -- rich "parents" are apparently hiring a service which will assign a handicapped person as a tour guide for the family at Disney. Being handicapped, he or she can get up to 6 other persons to the front of the line immediately, cutting in front of the riff-raff.

One "mom" quoted in the article crowed about "her daughter" only have to wait a few minutes, while everyone else's kids had to wait in the full 2 hour long line.... That's the kind of woman I wouldn't even bother to piss on if she was on fire. :|~ I loathe such people.

I don't see the problem. Seems like fair game to me. What exactly is your contention? I mean except the snobbery of it.

Isn't the snobbery enough?

Actually, they are breaking the rules, since the black market guides are posing, dishonestly, as family members. It's supposed to be that if you have a handicapped kid, you can get to the front of the line and bring the rest of the family. It's not supposed to be that you just hire a cripple and go to the front of the line.

Your response sounds like "Hmmm... coito objects to this... I must find a way to not agree with coito..." LOL :{D

Not really, since Obama is more tan or a kind of sandalwood color, as opposed to black. If we bring Obama into it, it would be more like "Mocha or Marshmallow Cocoa Market Handicapped Guides..." :{D

No. I'm not just not agreeing for the laugh. Eveythng seems consensual. Even if it is dishonest.

How the hell is it "consensual?" Disney's rule is that FAMILY MEMBERS who are handicaped can cut to the front and their family can come along. It does not allow anyone bringing a paid handicapped person to the park to do the same thing. They dishonestly pose as family members. Dude, WTF?

I didn't read anything about family members. Only that a person could bring six up to six guests with them. I presume this could be friends also.

Here's what the rulez say.
Some attractions at Walt Disney World Resort have auxiliary entrances for Guests with disabilities. These are intended to offer Guests in wheelchairs or with trained service animals a more convenient entrance to the attraction. Auxiliary entrances are not intended to bypass waiting lines. Guests with disabilities and up to five members of their party may enter through these entrances. The rest of the party should use the main entrance.
Nothing about the party having to consist of family members.

I'm not sure if the article is correct instating that they explicitly stated the disabled persons were "family members" or if this is their spin.

I don't disagree that they are dicks. I'm defending their right to be :hehe:

“My daughter waited one minute to get on ‘It’s a Small World’ — the other kids had to wait 2 1/2 hours,” crowed one mom, who hired a disabled guide through Dream Tours Florida.
That's bull shit right there, I've never seen the line for that ride over 20 minutes.
Most rides are handicap accessible, which means they have to wait in the same line. Others have a separate handicap line where they wait for the special handicap cars which could be even a longer wait. They do have special handicap areas for some parades and firework shows. But there aren't a lot of attractions where being handicapped gives you an advantage.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Why are we mollycoddling these people? Giving them a separate line is ableist.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Some people are just selfish cunts. These are the same people that "borrow" disabled badges so they can park next to the supermarket entrance. That "share" their choice of music with the entire neighbourhood. That keep three or four dogs tied up and barking in the garden all night.
