3 out of 10. :ddpan: No surprises there. Although the last question had two correct answers, so I should really have got 4. :smug:

Seven out of ten. I was quite comfortable with all the questions on the use of the language, - but with the ones involving grammatical terminology, I didn't have a clue.

9 out of ten, but one was a 50/50 guess

I got 9 out of 10. I dispute the one I got wrong-- that versus which.

I got that one right. 'Which' is properly used to...do something... 'That' on the other hand...does something slightly different.

I went back to look at the ones I got wrong to see if I could learn some of the definitions. - But a couple of them might as well have asked "Which type of grammatical error could be found in the previous sentence: a fliberty-wibble, a missing pontefract, or a half-past participle?"

:hehe:

The one with the "gerund" in it did me in. Even though i knew broadly what a "gerund" was, and didn't know what the other ones were, I still missed the gerund in the sentence.

Both gerunds (vb + ing) and infinitives (to + vb) are verbals, which function as nouns, but are not to be confused with the character from The Usual Suspects. :prof:
