Your favourite animated film.

Post by Rum » Wed May 08, 2013 7:30 pm

Just watched UP for the second time and I think it is probably my favourite all time animated film. I hate the cutsie everything works out for the best fare one usually gets from Disney personally.

See UP if you haven't. Uplifting!

What's yours?

"Up" was pretty good, as I recall.

I also remember enjoying "Despicable Me".

Ratatouille, if we're confining ourselves to just the CGI era. If not, well, it might still be Ratatouille.

Liked that too, all those Japanese movies are good. Grave of the Fireflies is a great anti-war movie from that way too.

I just googled this. The difference in the top 50 of Time Out and Rotten Tomatoes is an education!

I forgot Spirited Away for sheer imagination. It is a tie with UP I think.

Of course, I forgot about stop-motion animation ... Wallace and Gromit and so forth.

"Up" for computer animation, though "Wall-E" comes really close!

And that for classic animation

Both Pixar for digital and all of Miyazaki's animated films are excellent. I also really love "Ghost in the Shell", "Akira", and a lot of anime. Some of the classic Disney stuff I still love, particularly "Jungle Book" and "Cinderella"

Ratatouille.

I love that film. I didn't think Pixar would ever top Monsters Inc, but Ratatouille is simply superb.

Tetsuoooo! Kenaedaaaaa! :{D
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

Probably not my favourite, but the first one that comes to mind anyway - Kung Fu Panda.

It must be starting to look like I do this on purpose but, I really didn't see the big deal with Up at all. I thought it was average at best. My favourite Pixar film is probably Finding Nemo.
My favourite Disney is The Lion King.
My favourite animation is likely Persepolis or Watership Down. Akira and Princess Mononoke are pretty high up too.
