They were a cult of hyper-nationalists who shared very odd ideas about reshaping history through eugenics and eradication programmes, that they were popular does not make them any less a cult. I have no idea where you get it into your head that a cult implies a small number of people who reject outside influence, that would be a sub-culture. A Cult is informed by a totality of belief, not by its number of members and I think there were very few who actually envisioned the Third Reich as ever being an actual reality, rather than some nationalistic sentimentalist propaganda which acted as a motivator.MrJonno wrote:Audley Strange wrote:The cause of that was an insane cult who'd taken over the reigns of government and forced millions of jews and other undesirables into concentration camps. It's pretty fucking simple.
Have to disagree, a cult implies a small number of people who reject outside influence, thats the wrong way to see the rise of the Nazi's. They were a popular movement produced by German culture and German economic conditions in the 20/30's

Nazis were bad that's why it was necessary to bomb Dresden. If they'd had access to more fuel and resources they'd have won the war. Good thing our ideology was the right one.

You know very little about WWII.Tyrannical wrote:Yes, I know what Jewish groups wanted. The Allies bombed the rail lines and there was no way to get food and supplies there, not that there would have been much to move after an exhausting war.
FDR attitude of "the fastest way to end the slaughter in the camps is to end the war as quickly as possible" is obviously false because he insisted on unconditional surrender, the same thing that would have taken years against the Japanese if not for the atomic bomb.

A cult that gets a large number of people becomes a religion (which doesnt need to be supernatural), numbers is the only real difference between a cult and a religionA Cult is informed by a totality of belief, not by its number of members and I think there were very few who actually envisioned the Third Reich as ever being an actual reality, rather than some nationalistic sentimentalist propaganda which acted as a motivator.

Then I suppose Hitler would have let all the newly captured Jews go because he could not use the trains to transport them to concentration camps. I'm sure it would have never occurred to him to just shoot them and bury them in fields. The allies bombed the rail lines for military reasons, and one of the unfortunate side effects was starving out prisoners.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:You know very little about WWII.Tyrannical wrote:Yes, I know what Jewish groups wanted. A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

If that's really what you think go for it, I have not the motivation to argue about it further. Still showing your ignorance, and constructing strawman arguments to boot.Tyrannical wrote:Then I suppose Hitler would have let all the newly captured Jews go because he could not use the trains to transport them to concentration camps. BTW, troop movements were delayed so the SS could move people to the KZs on those tracks, so your "military reasons" bullshit don't walk.

It's like you are saying Hitler never used the railways for military reasons, purely for transporting prisoners. But not food and supplies for them.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Still showing your ignorance, and constructing strawman arguments to boot.Tyrannical wrote:Then I suppose Hitler would have let all the newly captured Jews go because he could not use the trains to transport them to concentration camps. It's like you can't read for comprehension or construct a logical argument. I do, which makes me wonder why he can't discuss this particular topic intelligently. Bomb the supply lines and one of the unintended consequences was starving prisoners.Rum wrote:I wonder if Tyrannical knows what Zilla does with virtually all his spare time.

Decisions are multi-factorial. Bombing railways was a valid military action in hampering the enemy. Actions always have unintended consequences, which you try to deal with as they arise...
