Re: A coming of age moment
Indeed, but its rather hard to smoke it responsibly. When you have to make criminal affiliations, all else follows. It takes a very intelligent person to smoke responsibly while at the same time keeping badness at a distance. Its seems a clique to say 'if you play with fire, you're going to get burnt' but this isn't always the case, you can be careful and wear oven glovesWell, it sucks to hear you actually had health complications. I recongize that it's not for everyone, and that some people react to it very badly. Whether it's treating it like a drug or just letting the effects wreck your mind or your habits, it can be harmful, but I would contend that it is mostly the psychological effects that are the worst in that regard. Your high isn't composed of just the effects of the plant. Your mindset contributes to it as well. I equate a strong joint to a pint or two of beer. And people shouldn't treat it too lightly, like if you're going to get super baked, make sure you aren't going to work tomorrow, and get home safe. I believe in resposible pot use. And only imbecieles would say that there's no such thing.
Well at the time I took an odd satisfaction in destroying my body. I know what it could do, I knew what it was doing and I continued in spite of this. What it may have all boiled down to, is that it was the only thing I could control at the time.
Cheers. During my time in this town, I've come to know this too well. Every single person young and old seems to be a complete conservative incapable of grasping an alternative and right view. For them, principles only go so far to their own routines and lives, they don't care about anyone else's. They could have their own freedom rightfully extended, but that would mean the Daily Mail was wrong. You are very smart for realizing that. It may be obvious, but unfortunately, it is not so for everyone.
I even know Cannabis users who are adversaries to Marijuana legalisation. I have no understanding as to why they decry it, but it seems to be a twisted limb of 'drug education'. My best friend smokes it sometimes, and frequently rebukes me when I highlight the falsity of prohibition and its disingenuous 'health experts'. His reasons for it? Marijuana wouldn't be fun any more if it was legal
I need to make new friends.
Thank youWow! Great article! Like I said earlier, you should be a writer.
Id like to be a writer, although reviewing my 'story' I've seemed to make really stupid spelling mistakes without any knowledge of doing so
Maybe I'll continue to write more anecdotes on here and when I've written enough I'll have them collected and worked into an actual book

Perhaps. I believe there was once a prohibition of the practice of homosexuality in Britain for a long time once. Both the prohibition of homosexuality and Marijuana are great injustices, both had and have mass government propaganda about the two and according to the health establishment both were and are considered damaging. But when homosexuality was legalised, did the establishment really care that they had been wrong or was it considered a victory for democracy and liberty?

Did I employ the term 'oxymoron' in the wrong tense?

Yeah, the whole writing off all politicians thing makes you look like a brainless ass, and kind of wipes out the respectability granted by your so-far cromulent points in this thread. Just sayin'.Lozzer wrote:Manofnofaith wrote:Have you ever heard the expression "Quit while you're ahead"?Lozzer wrote:Politicians with decency? Some politicians do a good job, which they're supposed to do and the least of what you'd expect. That doesn't mean they're 'decent' people.Yeah, the whole writing off all politicians thing makes you look like a brainless ass, and kind of wipes out the respectability granted by your so-far cromulent points in this thread. Good read, lozzer. Poignant at times and very articulate.
Only criticism I'd give is that you seem to confuse some words that look/are spelt similarly. I coul be your proofreader if you like?

Don't worry about typos and misspellings. If you write for a living, that's what proofreaders and editors are for.Lozzer wrote:Cheerslordpasternack wrote:Good read, lozzer. Poignant at times and very articulate.

It's just wry and cynical stereotyping ... a sardonic form of humour, MoNF.Manofnofaith wrote:Yeah, the whole writing off all politicians thing makes you look like a brainless ass, and kind of wipes out the respectability granted by your so-far cromulent points in this thread. Just sayin'.

I think MoNF has some set principles and they're very black and white. He frequently makes reference to people having no ounce of good in them, that such and such is "evil" (as opposed to simply incompetant, or ignorant, or whatever), and that such and such rather trifling misdeeds are liable to wipe clean any respect he ever had for you.Charlou wrote:It's just wry and cynical stereotyping ... a sardonic form of humour, MoNF.Manofnofaith wrote:Yeah, the whole writing off all politicians thing makes you look like a brainless ass, and kind of wipes out the respectability granted by your so-far cromulent points in this thread. As it happens, I'm terribly sleep-deprived at the moment. I was with a guy last night whose snoring sounded like a fucking banshee, and he only had a single bed, and he was quite a chunky boy - so I curled up on his two-seater couch for a few hours. And later when I rejoined him in bed, he just wouldn't leave my fucking body alone. Sorry, but I tend to get irritable if I can't get my beauty sleep, and I am not a morning person - and my nipples are fucking tender little things. How many times do I need to brush you off and whine till you get the message?
