How the hell can it be a derail? This was a mindless act of terrorism, and Boston financed similar mindless terrorism for years, either by individuals giving money, or as a body, by looking the other way. It's the same set of rails.

It's certainly a derail, if this is an "oh how awful" thread, but not if it's about terrorism.

Comments like "they didn't deserve it" and "they didn't finance the IRA" are just stating the mind-numbingly obvious. I made it perfectly clear from my very first post that it's always the wrong people who get hurt. That's EXACTLY what terrorism is all about. The innocent getting hurt by morons.

Boston did not, not anymore than you can say that the financing coming out of London that goes to terrorist groups is "London financing similar mindless terrorism." There are British citizens donating money to Muslim terrorist groups in London. Do you suggest that London is financing terrorism?

I think you need to re-read what he wrote. That wasn't his point at all.

His point was that people in Boston funded IRA terrorism (which was against the pro-Queen northern Irish and UK-ers, mostly). And, since some people in Boston gave funds to the IRA, it somehow justifies this bombing. Now they know how it feels, so fuck 'em. Boston has it coming to it.
