The Matrix, a question.

Post by Gawdzilla Sama » Sat Apr 13, 2013 10:59 am

Why humans for batteries? Why not cows? Bigger, more "juice", and no need for a matrix more complicated than a California cheese commercial.

And, on the same note, why biological batteries at all? Why not fission or fusion power plants?

True.

I can't remember what reality was actually like in the movies. There were machines and stuff weren't there? So it is a fair question to ask - why didn't they just use conventional power sources? The obvious answer is that the movie would have sucked balls without any enslaved humans in it. ;)

The movie was pointless anyway. Buncha woo, zen-shit. "Like, cosmic, man!" The only saving grace was "trigger time". :cheer:

I enjoyed it up to the last one which was shit. Apart from the ridiculous non-stop CG fight/battle scenes, all the "Architect" god and woo shit was too much. But then, not sure how you can satisfactorily end a movie like that. A bit like Lost.

I liked the CG fights, the rest of the plot took away a lot of time that could have been better spent on mindless violence.

In this specific case I totally agree with you G. He'd hacked the program, he should have been flinging cities about. As for batteries, why did the machines go big, rather than small?

I always wondered about that. They find a way to override the virtual reality of the matrix and yet they still had to fight it and lose if they allowed it to become more real again. .

The slow motion cat suit was nice though..

Yeah, let's autopsy The Matrix over ten years later. Why the hell not. When Maggie dying seems to have sent the whole country on a eighties timewarp? A way of avoiding the brick wall of reality right ahead. :coffee:

How some people get to be as big a twerp as they do is one of life's remaining mysteries.

Having watched all of the first film I came to the conclusion that they were the sole and entire point of the production.
