I'm wondering if this 400 dollars number in FL comes from the bulk of students only doing 2 years of community college?

In Canada, it's like 4000-5000 a year for a full course load. I know I don't have any student debt.

From what I gather, the vast majority of University students in America end up at a Uni a long way from home, so they have to scrape up rent and food money as well...

In Oz, at least in the major cities, uni students these days tend to live at home, and commute to Uni...

Getting away from home is part of the university experience, I would think in Australia that universities are going to be in major cities where most Australian live and there aren't that many in Australia.

I thought Australian students came to the UK anyway and studied here

Iceland is teh awesome. Tuition fees are around 200 quid a year here for everyone. They have their priorities straight. A well educated populace is beneficial for the country.
