No, it would be viewed the same as alcohol, not the same as cigarettes. Show up drunk at work (or stoned) and you're likely in trouble. But after hours, what profession completely forbids people from having a drink on their own time? Some people if they're on call to come in I suppose, but the same rules would apply.

But after hours, what profession completely forbids people from having a drink on their own time? Some people if they're on call to come in I suppose, but the same rules would apply.

I'm fairly certain it is metabolised more slowly than alcohol. Have 2 or 3 drinks in an evening, and you would register zero blood alcohol next morning, if tested (either on the road or at work).

Smoke a joint, and it may still be detectable for at least several days, even though you would not still be stoned.

Some of the worst experiences I ever had as a young bloke was hitting both booze and dope hard at the same time - and I don't mean sipping a glass of wine and smoking a modest joint.

After that, I generally kept them either separate, or moderate...

I am sadly not familiar enough with spliff to see one hidden in the graphplot without mention of it. Perhaps that'll change in coming years.
