You have to consider where you might be WTSHTF. If you have one in your apartment, fine. But if you're at school will you have time to get home? If not you might want to put one in the trunk of your car. Not as elaborate as the home one, but essentials. Make sure you have "strike anywhere" matches and a butane lighter in zippies.

Nobody sells matches anymore. I've got one of those big camping lighters. Way back when, I used to take cotton balls and rub them in vaseline for wet weather fire starters. I've been thinking about a gas mask. No idea where I'd find one, and NK is known to have chemical weapons and worse.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:You have to consider where you might be WTSHTF. Really sad we can't organize a rescue attempt. Rationalia really can't afford to lose members. Even if it is in interesting circumstances....

Re: The fear of North Korea
All of 'em?
http://www.crisisgroup.org/en/regions/a ... grams.aspxUnclassified estimates of the chemical weapons (CW) arsenal are imprecise, but the consensus is that the Korean People’s Army (KPA) possesses 2,500-5,000 tons, including mustard, phosgene, blood agents, sarin, tabun and V-agents (persistent nerve agents). The stockpile does not appear to be increasing but is already sufficient to inflict massive civilian casualties on South Korea. The North’s CW can be delivered with long-range artillery, multiple rocket launchers, FROGs (free rocket over ground), ballistic missiles, aircraft and naval vessels.

Weaponized biological are persistent, they'd be the most problem. If they use gases avoid basements and low lying areas. Don't be the first one to go into those types of places. Have a DE* go ahead of you and observe how they do.FBM wrote:I'll check into what people think the North has and get back to you.

Just before they go toes up, I figure they'll launch everything they can. We'll probably all be fucked. A gas mask won't help against biologicals and contact-exposure shit.
A "DE" = "someone else."
A "DE" = "someone else."
