AGW is a hoax.

In the way that Christianity is a hoax. Lots of people bending the truth, because they believe in the concept, but the evidence is shit.

I've said on many occasions that the models are a fraud, DESIGNED backwards. If they don't show CO2 causing warming, they are ditched for the next one, till they hit on one that shows what they want.

Now the facts don't match the inconvenient truth. How inconvenient. But not surprising.

I doubt the AGW hocus pocus, because the ice-core evidence is against CO2 as the main driver of climate. I did as soon as I saw the graphs. I didn't need anyone to tell me something was wrong. It's fucking obvious.

185 million years ago, CO2 was four or five times todays levels. Panic over. We still made it.

The headline will sell news, to Fox channel fans. There are lots of 20 year flat spots in the past 150 years. Even slight cooling. But 20 years is total bullshit as a trend. When we have 300 years of data, it will not be cooling overall.

In a paper published Sunday, March 10, in the journal Nature Climate Change, an international team of university and NASA scientists examined the relationship between changes in surface temperature and vegetation growth from 45 degrees north latitude to the Arctic Ocean. Results show temperature and vegetation growth at northern latitudes now resemble those found 4 degrees to 6 degrees of latitude farther south as recently as 1982.

"Higher northern latitudes are getting warmer, Arctic sea ice and the duration of snow cover are diminishing, the growing season is getting longer and plants are growing more," said Ranga Myneni of Boston University's Department of Earth and Environment. "In the north's Arctic and boreal areas, the characteristics of the seasons are changing, leading to great disruptions for plants and related ecosystems."

Geez Macdoc, how can you miss the point by so far? Are you making a special effort?
The point isn't about the degree of warming, it's about whether CO2 is responsible. Nobody's disputing the half a degree warming we've had in the last seventy years.
But look at the ice-core graphs.



We are at a peak in the cycle. The Earth is WAY warmer than the long-term average. Not because of humans, but because of natural forces. It's happened four times before, at regular intervals.
THAT'S why the oceans are still warming, begause they have "cold" stored in them from much colder times.
Only when the atmospheric temperatures are at the long-term average, will ocean temperatures be stable. Otherwise, they will naturally be either rising or falling. And at the present, they HAVE to be rising. Even without the precious 1/2 a degree.

So OF COURSE the ice should be thinning in the Atlantic. etc etc.

What this 16 years of steady temperatures does is blow the precious "models" out of the sky.
Proper climate scientists around the world are now saying that the models were wrong. They could hardly say otherwise, as no models forecast 16 years of steady climate.

And your own post explodes the myth that warmer temperatures are bad. All that lush growth in the north can't be all bad.
Canada and Russia will do well out of it. The two biggest countries in the world.

This clearly falls under the "adapt or die" rubric.

Doesn't really matter why temps are going up, it's long past time to quit trying to change something that's going to be with us for AT LEAST the next 150 years and spend out energy capital on adapting to the inevitable change FIRST, then worry about how long it's going to go on or how hot it's going to get.

If you really believe in AGW (or just "GW" of whatever cause) then the only rational thing to do is to advocate for massive social change to ADAPT TO HIGHER TEMPERATURES rather than asinine Luddite anti-CO2/carbon environmental whackoism. We NEED all that energy, every single bit of it that we can possibly extract and use in the next 100 years to undertake the massive project of moving cities and populations out of the drowning zones of the world and adapting agriculture to the new, inevitable conditions.

All that we do by banning "fracking" and cutting off production of oil, gas and coal is to guarantee that we won't have the technology or industrial capacity to do what must be done to move infrastructure and vulnerable populations.
