The B-52s will be keeping their distance from North Korea. They would be carrying air-to-ground missiles, not bombs.

NK in itself is of very limited interest for the USA. But, they are creating a precedence of going rouge with nukes, witch doubtlessly is closely scrutinised in Tehran, and other places. Now the DPRK are waiving the nukes right in the face of Uncle Sam. I am not very keen to see what kind of knee jerk reaction might come out of that. Kind of soothing, that big Dick isn't in charge any more, though.

State media: North Korea in 'state of war' with South, threatens to 'dissolve' U.S.

(CNN) -- North Korea has entered a "state of war" with neighboring South Korea, according to a report Saturday from the state-run Korean Central News Agency that included a threat to "dissolve" the U.S. mainland.
"Any issues regarding North and South will be treated in accordance to the state of war," North Korea's government said in a special statement carried by KCNA. "... The condition, which was neither war nor peace, has ended."

:hehe: Surely there has to be some point at which NK won't be able to think of anything stronger or crazier than what they just said?

Being dissolved doesn't sound good. Might be planning a chemical attack of some sort? :coffee:

I remember a kid I went to middle school with, a runty, not very bright little jerk named Curtis. Obnoxious, not really friends with anybody, but always talking shit about people. One day I turned a corner in the halls between classes and saw some jock heaving Curtis head-first into a locker door.

North Korea reminds me of him.

Never underestimate the tenacity of the stupid. This won't be a three day war if it gets going. :dunno:

The hard part is nation building....could take a bit longer than usual with North Korea.

NK soldiers were defecting into China last week. Across the DMZ not too long ago. Not sure a war would last a week, but maybe. I don't think they have enough fuel to mobilize large numbers for any length of time, nor enough food to feed an army in active combat. Medicine? That'd be a luxury, from what I hear.

Is there a point at which you think about getting out of SK, FBM?

Yeah, after the war and after I've gotten rich off my photos of it. :levi:

It's my retirement plan. What could possibly go wrong?
