Supermarket group Tesco has bought the restaurant chain Giraffe for £48.6m.

The move will see the supermarket open Giraffe branches near to Tesco stores as it seeks to create "retail destinations" for customers.

Yep for the peasants who can't even be assed microwaving a pre-packaged reconstructed meat flavoured slab of organic matter, they can just dig down on swill on site.

The punchline of the article says it all.

"This move will allow us to introduce Giraffe to a wider audience, presents great opportunities for growth and for the team to be involved in an exciting stage in our brand's development," said Mr Joffe.

Private equity firms 3i and Risk Capital Partners have sold their stakes in the business.

Isn't it funny that the establishment always use "wider audience" when they mean serfs?

I'm fed up with these reports.
I've been completely unable to get any horsemeat, in tescos or anywhere else. Now I expect the same is going to happen with giraffe. It's a disgrace.

I remember years ago their were rumors of McDonald's in Australia serving kangaroo. Probably on Snopes but too lazy too look it up.
