Does outside of the universe exist?

Post by Deep Sea Isopod » Tue Mar 12, 2013 6:19 pm

OK, so everything that exists is made of matter and/or energy.
All matter and energy exists in the universe, as the universe consists of everything that exists.
So outside of the universe cannot exist, because there is no matter or energy. And if something isn't made of matter or energy it cannot exist.
(And as a side note if a religious person says god exists outside of the universe they have just described them out of existence :{D )

Even a point in space and time exists. So outside of space and time does not exist.

Does this make sense to anyone? I'm probably completely wrong, but I'm just trying to make sense of what's outside of the universe.

I think the concept of 'outside' the universe is a human construct because we can't actually visualise the way the universe is.

No because there is no outside the universe, there is only the universe, everything that is is in the universe, all the mathematical forms, energy, matter, various dimensions, it's all the universe, the word describes entirety.

So if you could travel faster than the universe is expanding holding the same course the entire time would you eventually return to where you started?

Picture it this way:

The whole universe is actually an atomic bomb explosion. The 14 billion years so far represents less than a nanosecond in "the real world" were the bomb exploded.

Now, describe that larger world, remembering that it is but a dot in the universe that holds it.

What about the everything that does NOT exist in the universe?

And WHICH universe are you talking about?

There's a clue in the word. I've highlighted that for you, too.
