More worried about the rise of fascism in the UK, BNP/UKIP and a signficiant part of the Conservative party not to mention a good 20% of the population

Well, let democracy rule! If the people want fascism, then they should get fascism!

Fascism in the UK is kicking your door in someday, maybe. What the grunts want the grunts get. They outnumber the geeks about ten to one still if you are smart you'll find a way through the coming bad years, and prosper whilst helping a few frightened surviving Muslims etc to get on a boat and escape somewhere nice.

Fascist governments are creations of fascist people.

But, I'd rather cope with fascist people than a fascist government, because if my neighbor is a fascist, it doesn't hurt me a bit unless he breaks the law. If my government is fascist, then it by definition hurts me because I am subject to arbitrary detention, violations of free speech and freedom of religion rights, I lose my right to be secure in person, house, papers and effects, I lose the right to be presumed not guilty in a court of law etc.

If my government is not fascist, I can call the police on fascist individuals. If my government is fascist, then fascist individuals can break my windows and legs and they will get support from the government.
