I've been in a McD's twice in the past two years, both times to get emergency coffee.
I never go to McD's when I'm stateside, but when I'm over here I think, 'Wow. That's so exotic!' I used to hate, hate, hate coleslaw until the first KFC opened up in this city. I tried it because I couldn't bear to throw it away. Damn. Turned out to be good. Coleslaw. Who'd a thunk? :food:
I went to a McD's in Hong Kong back in 1983 and noticed that a Big Mac cost $12.95 (HK$ of course, but the menu made a great pix.)

I was experimenting with shopping stroller- and carrier-free with Sprog yesterday. Mixed results. He kept grabbing stuff and shoving it into his face before I could stop him. Including a miniature Yukon gold potato he pulled out of a bin and bit a big chunk off of. I decided I should just pay for that one.

Then, when we were in line, I was trying to pay for our stuff and stop him from raiding the bakery display at the same time by blocking him with my leg. I ended up knocking him over in front of all the people waiting to check out.

He was caught in the spot of a track light as he began to tip over. It seemed to happen in slow motion. A look of shock as he hit the floor... I started to hear that music from the end of Platoon . . . an outreached hand, the slow turn of a tear-stained face. . . a small, half-chewed Yukon gold potoato rolls out of frame . .. the hand goes limp . . .

Scene.
The green careening planet
spins blindly in the dark
so close to annihilation.

Listen. No one listens. Meow.
