Apparently, young priests were invited to "get to know him" after having a few dry sherries.

So he does like a few gays then. Just not the loud, shouty, out ones. :tea:

Good riddance indeed, now I hope without the protection of the Dark Brethern of Rome the police can investigate the festering prick. Live by the witch hunt die by the witch hunt.

Actually, it was a history-oriented forum. One that is on the internet by the grace of God, insofar as I can tell. They move all threads about evolution to the religion forum. "You can't talk about evolution without talking about creationism." I was suspended for pointing out that a big deal was being made about ID not being religious and now here they are requiring it be talked about in the religion forum. :fp:

I'm sure he's a really good man and this is a smear campaign against him by the Gay Lobby :ccl:

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000142 ... 47408.html LOL -- he won't attend "in person." Careful wording. He'll just participate remotely, by phone or internet, etc. And, his reason for not going is not that he has done something wrong -- he just doesn't want pesky media attention on his conduct to spoil the pageantry and the myth associated with the "conclave." Douche.

Criminy -- just when I start to think that my "never trust a priest" policy may be overly broad, I have it proven again, and again. Guaranteed, there was a meeting of Church authorities who thought it best for the Church that he stay out of the limelight. Lay low, 'til the coast is clear. Assholes.

There's going to be a new Pope in a few days. They're probably hoping it will take the limelight off the Cardinal.

Priests... never trust a man who says he knows all about that which he can actually know nothing. It's not so much the incidences of wrongdoing that bother me about priests. It's what even the normal ones do and say. You can't trust them, because they learn mentalis restrictio as a form of communication.

Yeah, I've never been able to trust people who are experts in things they can't possibly know.

He won't participate at all... the cardinals are incommunicado during the conclave, and you can't vote by proxy.
