Rise in laser pen attacks on airline pilots over London

There has been a rise in the number of incidents in which handheld lasers are being used to distract airline pilots flying over London, police have said.

The Met said in 2010 there were 145 reported incidents. In 2012 the number rose to 252.

Officers say lives are being put at risk and have released new images to show just how dangerous the crime can be.

I tell you what, i've been close to going on a rampage in a cinema before while some dweebs flick laser beams all over the screen. I basically can't go to the cinema any more because of bloody young people and their mobile phones and laser pointers. :grumpy:

The authorities should map these attacks and see if they correspond with Islamic dominated boroughs? although that would get the bleeding heart liberals outraged.

Or the cops could, you know, use infrared optics to see the laser beams and trace them back to their source. Regular nightvision will do for a rough approximation.
