For anyone who isn't familiar with this particular Scottish cliché..(and with a dedication and best wishes to RC)..

While we were driving around the lovely borders area just over the border in Scotland today we had BBC Radio 4, BBC Radio 3 (classical music) and briefly BBC Radio 2 (non teens pop). We pay a license for these services amounting to about £150 a year.

I'm therefore assuming that if they win the independence vote all BBC transmitters in Scotland will be turned off. :tea:

Given how BBC is popular in Ireland, I have no doubt SBC will licence BBC programming to continue in Free Scotland.

I'm a quarter Scottish. Where does that leave me?

Ah yes, this is indeed a critical issue. Many Scots will abandon any thoughts of throwing their lot in with the dirty separatists under Kim Jong Salmond when paragon of virtue Alistair Darling questions whether we will be able to get The Archers or Eastenders.

Not.

By the way Rum, did you know Scots also pay the licence fee? Astonishing, I know!

Of course I do. But if you go your own way we want our radio back! Yours is terrible. All reels and fucking bagpipes!

No.
Why would they turn them off if they're getting money? If the money stops, they'll turn them off. But I'm betting there will be some kind of arrangement made.
