I liked the sexy bits..and the fighting..actually that was 95% of the show come to think of it..

The fighting was what I found most annoying.. knowing a thing or two about how Roman legionnaires actually fought. :hehe:

I know a bit about how they fought in reality too - in fact I studied Roman history pretty seriously some years ago. The gladiators were equipped very specifically, with very pronounced strengths and vulnerabilities and (contrary to the show) they didn't get killed quite as often as is commonly portrayed (they were expensive to train and keep for one thing!).

But as Nibbler says - the camp factor is the fun. The reality of a day in the Colosseum would be enough to put the average Ratz off their breakfasts for a week I fancy!
