I was trying to remember a book that translated perfectly to the big screen. The only ones I could think of were true Marvels.

I thought Jurassic Park was transferred to film fairly flawlessly... although action-flicks aren't particularly challenging. Although the special effects (at the time) did anyone's imagination impressive justice.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:I was trying to remember a book that translated perfectly to the big screen. So everything that was in the book was in the movie?Red Celt wrote:I thought Jurassic Park was transferred to film fairly flawlessly... although action-flicks aren't particularly challenging. In occasional films, even if some stuff from the book is left out, you get a very similar feeling from the book and the film. To a fair extent, I think Jurassic Park managed that...Gawdzilla Sama wrote:So everything that was in the book was in the movie?Red Celt wrote:I thought Jurassic Park was transferred to film fairly flawlessly... although action-flicks aren't particularly challenging. It may have captured the essence perfectly, I don't know not having read the book.JimC wrote:In occasional films, even if some stuff from the book is left out, you get a very similar feeling from the book and the film. How, my point here is that people will carp about things being left out and the more complex and lengthy the book the more chances they have to do so. LOTR, no Tom Bombadil, for example. (Personally, I thought that was a derail in the book except for one thing.)

J.J. Abrams will direct Episode VII.

a Disney star war movie worth about as much as a 3 dollar banknote will be ... which admittedly more than the recent 3 films is.

Outside the ordered universe is that amorphous blight of nethermost confusion which blasphemes and bubbles at the center of all infinity—the boundless daemon sultan Azathoth, whose name no lips dare speak aloud, and who gnaws hungrily in inconceivable, unlighted chambers beyond time and space amidst the muffled, maddening beating of vile drums and the thin monotonous whine of accursed flutes.
