The Interminable UK General Election 2015 Thread.

Post by Clinton Huxley » Sat Jan 26, 2013 11:22 am

We had a number of insufferable threads about the US Presidential election, which went on forever, to the edification of nobody, and as the electioneering seems to have started here, the General Election of 2015 deserves no less.

Who will win? Who should win? Is Osborne the worst Chancellor ever? Will more than 25% of the electorate turn out? Will the Lib Dems get 1 MP or 2? Could we see the preposterous Nigel Farage in the Cabinet? Will the economically illiterate policies of the Bullingdon Club leave them any scope for electoral bribes, sorry, "tax cuts"?

Which venal political pygmies will be at the helm after May 7th 2015 and will it actually make any bloody difference at all?

It's getting a bit awkward. Can't vote Labour, can't vote Tory, can't vote Lib Dem... :ask:

For me, the UK election never actually gets any closer to happening. I swear it's always been about 2 to 3 years out for the last 5 years. I'm hoping that the Tories get massacred. Surely that shower of cunts won't get back in, will they?

Be interesting to see how much of the Tory vote UKIP pick up. Interesting and terrifying. UKIP for fucks sake. Hopefully the Lib Dems will be massacred too, so they can spend 5 years in the wilderness, looking for their principles.

If Clegg hadn't been such a spineless numpty and had held out for a real chance of electoral reform - STV or something - it would be a lot more interesting. I'd like to vote Green but in most places that's a wasted vote. Still, as long as the Tories don't stand much chance wherever I am then, it wouldn't be a bad way to waste the vote.

Perhaps we should start a new party - the Ratz Cheese party.

Easy to understand policies:

1. Cheese is good.
2. The deficit will be paid with cheese.
3. Policy on Europe: The Greeks will be bailed out with feta (but not by us).
4. All households required to start making cheese, a proportion of which will be taken as tax.

I think the electorate will eat it up. :coffee:

This could work. ATMs could dispense cheese slices

To be honest; despite his general numptiness, there's a not unreasonable chance of Number 10 simply falling into Milliband's lap simply by default.
Perhaps all he has to do is not actually actively fuck-up in any way - and that ought to be a lot easier than having to actually impress anyone.

Grateful as I am to the fine women who endured imprisonment and starvation and who flung themselves beneath the hooves of racehorses so that my sisters and I might have the vote, I can't help thinking that if those noble souls could have gazed down the centuries and seen the woeful standard of political candidates currently pitching for that vote, they might well have given the whole thing up as a bad job.

Waste of good spunky cock drawing time.

I think, Rationalia should try and start a clandestine petition to have those who spoil their ballot papers all write on them "Derren Brown for Warlord."

That would be a hoot.
