In Out In Out Shake It All About - EU Referendum.

Post by Clinton Huxley » Wed Jan 23, 2013 9:23 am

Oh great, so if the Bullingdon Club wins the next election and the EU doesn't do as we bloody well say, we will have a referendum on membership in 2017. Sigh. Which means we will have to endure 4 more years of increasingly insane balderdash from the right wing press about how literally EVERYONE in the EU will come to live in Britain and take all our jobs, despite also being on the dole and make everyone speak Hungarian and depress house prices and blah blah blah blah blah.

I'm getting a headache already.

Is Hungarian particularly difficult to learn? It could be handy in deciphering goulash recipes...

It's terribly foreign. I really don't know what the point of all these foreign languages is.

I saw most of Cameron's speech. It was mainly absurd nostalgic twaddle, but the core of his point regarding maintaining political and economic autonomy had some merit. How the fuck he thinks any of the other EU members aren't going to tell him to fuck himself is a mystery though.

This is polarising move, in that it's hard to see the Lib Dems. being happy with it. It's also likely to alienate people up and down the country. IMHO, it's far more likely lose the Conservatives voters in the centre than gain them at the expense of UKIP.

I think britain should be more worried if the economy goes tits-up like greece italy spain and portugal the solution according to the EU is to send them further down shit creek without a paddle to use an australian term. I used to be ambivelant about the EU but after the crisis i'm wholly opposed to the EU they let the fuckwits that got ireland spain portugal greece italy in this mess off scot free and dumped it on the people of those countries dictating to them that they should neglect its people by cutting services etc.

Granted this happened more or less the world over but i don't think it was done more bloody-mindedly or with less regard for the people than in the EU.

Better off out.

Not to mention he puts the referendum in 2017, meaning the voter has to tell him not to fuck himself either, even though French opinion has it that if the whigs pass, they may have to do it too.

I see a poll in Figaro (French left of centre newspaper) did a poll of readers. 70% would prefer the UK to be out of the UK. Can't say I blame them with all this twatting about.

..though as it happens I think we should take cover til Greece gets sorted out..if it ever does.
