Just been reading some mad-cap anti-European fantasy wish-fulfilment detailing how Blighty should join the USA, with its population granting it not 1 but 10 states, one of which would be Lancashire. (Unfortunately, Yorkshire is also included).
Is it as mad an idea as it sounds? Would you like to see Nick Clegg as as senator? Could you cope with a plummy sounding President? Would we have to eat "corn dogs"? Would you have to introduce the Gravy Trade Description Act? Would CES implode? Would I be forced to wear a Stetson and say things like "yee har"?
