The Pope was today knocked down at the start of Christmas mass by a woman who hopped over the barriers. The woman was said to be, "Mentally unstable."

Which is probably why she went unnoticed among a crowd of Christians.

I don't understand why people need more than one but i have being told the good news bible is particularly crap.I read the new international version i find it the easiest to read and understand.
The one on the far left is my Gideon's NT, which I was handed more or less the first day of high school; then the pale brown one I think came from my maternal grandfather; there are two of those Queen's Jubilee NTs, given out to the kids at school; the two Good News ones hark from Mrs TA's old church (why there are two I'm not sure); the NSRV I bought during my Dawkins phase, trying to find an intelligible version that might be accurate (little did I know that even the earliest manuscripts vary so much...); and the black one was given to Mrs TA by her late Uncle.

FBM, I'd love to have that book. Campfire starters are scarce.

It was published in the late forties and is outrageously unknowingly sexist, racist and just downright wrong. Though it's got some fucking knockout recipes and tips for cleaning and home maintenance.
If the cooking, cleaning, and maintenance tips were right, maybe the rest of the book is too :hehe:
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Yes. I take great pleasure in marking them up to highlight:

1. The cruel, capricious, tormenting, infanticidal, and genocidal nature of the biblical deity, and
2. The numerous contradictions within the bible.

That one seems to have become garbled...

I'd change "descriptive or advocating" to "describing or advocating", and fix whatever's happened to the last line, with the spurious double-quotes and half-sentence.

I have hours in hotel rooms. I am happy enough with inserting tabs such as:

God orders rape
God orders murder
God orders genocide

etc. etc.
