Where I live, you can't listen to talk radio that's not far-right, Christian in nature. I'm always struck by how the programming is geared towards sowing fear and paranoia about one thing or another (gov't takeover of everything, UN takeover, one-world gov't, Sharia Law, communists, etc.), while the commercials are almost always selling things like freeze-dried food, buying gold ("It's the only thing that'll have value when the monetary system collapses), and oddly enough...nutritional supplements.

Pretty good racket if you don't have much of a conscience.

You can try. Of course first you have to find us, then you have to get near enough to us to do so, which is a highly risky proposition for anyone within a 1500 meter radius circle around me and my family, and then you have to have the equipment, ammunition, skills and abilities in CQB better than my team's, and you have to execute your attack perfectly, something merry bands of raiding savages are not known for.

If you can succeed in all those steps, then you might get what I've "saved up," or you might get yourself blown to smithereens by your greed when you tamper with my cache.

But, sometimes you die, that's true. Still, preppers are better prepared to take on raiding savages than the lumpen proletariat, so their chances of survival go up enormously. That's really all prepping is about. Nobody in the prepper network thinks they are invulnerable...that's why they prep, and train.
