I cannot judge her too harshly for distrusting bankers though. She merely took a good instinct too far.
She could have spread it around if it was a bundle so one could get at it all.

She could have bought a pair of solid gold insoles (much better than hiding your money in your socks).

A freakin' money belt under her dress would have been a better option than her purse. I used to have a wallet with two loops that went over my arms and held the wallet next to my chest. I would set into the loo for a minute when I needed money. I kept an empty wallet in my hip pocket. I had to buy three replacements for it. And get my jeans fixed where the razor had cut the fabric. Inside the wallet was a note in the local language discussing the ancestors of the person holding the wallet.

:hehe: Though when you think about it, it's very considerate of them not to slice your ass with the razor when they're stealing your wallet.

No, not at all. They would have gladly slit my throat for $20 US. But by not cutting me they insured that they'd get away before I noticed the wallet was gone. Me and a friend caught one guy reaching in his camera case. We took him into an alley and left most of him there.
