Well, I guess there is a man-made hill at one of the parks. It was made for go-kart races. It's pretty fun to go sledding down.Pappa wrote:What? Don't you USans go sledging in the snow?

Oh sure I do... when Pa hitches up the trap to the team and we go into town for provisions, after he's has a streak of luck in the gold panning... in winter we take the sleigh up to the mountains for a merry ride, but we usually end up stuck and freezing and cannibalising each other...Pappa wrote:What? A book is a version of the world. If you do not like it, ignore it; or offer your own version in return.

Twitter?
I suppose this is a current event , though the question is does anyone here use Twitter and do you actually get it?
Stephen Fry, an actor and TV personality here in the UK uses it and has a huge following. He has bi-polar disorder too and when someone made a mild criticism of him he went off in a huff and said he was stopping using it, then a day later apologised and has done a u-turn.
I have taken a look and I can see how people who might be into 'personalities' might like it to follow the minutia of their heroes lives, but other than that...
Anyone?

The world is a thing of utter inordinate complexity and richness and strangeness that is absolutely awesome. I mean the idea that such complexity can arise not only out of such simplicity, but probably absolutely out of nothing, is the most fabulous extraordinary idea. And once you get some kind of inkling of how that might have happened, it's just wonderful. And . . . the opportunity to spend 70 or 80 years of your life in such a universe is time well spent as far as I am concerned.
