His name is now mud on Twitter. He has been judged, found guilty and his name has been executed.
Why do the police have to even mention they've questioned someone?

Broadcaster Stuart Hall has been charged with three counts of indecent assault.
The 82-year-old from Wilmslow in Cheshire has been charged following complaints to police about alleged incidents involving three girls aged between nine and 16.

The child sexual assault / rape case I sat on as a juror was quite enlightening about how the CPS approach these kind of cases. When assaults/rapes occurred decades ago and the only evidence is witness testimony, they'll usually refuse to try the case because the likelihood of an unsafe conviction is very high. The case I was on had corroborating testimony from witnesses who'd not been in contact with each other for 20 years.
