I wonder that myself, but it causes offence when I treat the U.S. as most people treat most foreign nations, that is to say, I don't actually give a fuck what happens on your shores as long as it doesn't affect me. I recall that my reaction to 9/11. "So fuck, it's a foreign country" was treated with derision by my peers and contemporaries, as if somehow I should make a special effort to care about the U.S. because it's where the cast of friends live or something.

The Beeb news is the same always going on about Obama as if he's our fucking Prime Minister, the U.S. economy, the U.S. Military. It really is becoming like a state. I blame the influx of Australians into our News Media. They have such a toadying servile sycophantic manner when it comes to dealing with U.S. citizens that it is shocking. I don't know if it's an Australian thing or the types who haunt the media, but yeah.

Fuck off America, to me you're as relevant as Botswana.

How would you feel about Botswana if it had nuclear weapons, the biggest economy in the world, massive business interests on your high street and a huge cultural influence on your daily life I wonder?
