The UK - better together!

If you are British (or not) and you support the continuation of the Union as opposed to an independent Scotland there is a 'Better Together' campaign which promotes the positive side of the union. Linky:-

Free Scotland, and return everything South of the Antonine Wall back to Rome. End the occupation!

Grant England it's own Parliament, and then divest power from the UK Parliament to the Parliaments of England,Scotland,Wales, and Northern Ireland. I think Scotland wants more power over Scotland, and not to be dictated to by a central UK Parliament.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

Just re-conquer Ireland and get it over with. The "British Isles" should be 100% British.

I say move the capitol to Glasgow and let the English have an independence movement for a change. :awesome:
What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

In these tough and turbulent times, the size, strength and stability of the UK economy is a huge advantage for Scotland's businesses. Scotland's largest market is the rest of the UK. The UK is the world's oldest and most successful single market and the UK has the oldest and most successful currency - the pound.

Scottish businesses are increasingly having to win orders against smart, efficient and productive firms in foreign markets. These competitive challenges will only get tougher in the years ahead. The UK is better placed than a separate Scotland or England to help our businesses find and win new orders across the world.

The way I read it is that they consider English companies are not as smart, efficient or productive as "foreigners" :hehe: ......and therefore are the easy touch for Scotland - that may well be true, just seems a bit rude to point it out!

Had a bit on the news today about a(nother) report on Scotlands economic future - apparently in 50 years time the oil will run out (and between now and then the Oil price will likely go up and down). Therefore Alistair Darling claims Scotland must stay a colony. My Bet is that in 50 years and 1 months time the English would say: "oh look, the oil has run out......maybe we should have planned ahead? :ask: "......the oil running out is the best reason for independence.

In other breaking news - bears beleived to shit in woods :hehe:

Meanwhile, the Welsh watch the conflicts unfold and quietly draw up their plans...

Can't ... stop ... myself ...

today's independence argument in the media: the IFS produce report showing Scotland would be the same or BETTER off independent today, and would likely continue very nicely thank you very much without previously predicted sky falling incidents. But - oh noes! - the oil will run out eventually, so we just shouldn't bother.

Because it's not like Scotland with full control over it's own decisions and resources couldn't take a different path from that imposed from the UK, and therefore grow the economy ... no siree bob.

Carry on ...
