Black Friday
I never look forward to the annual sale. But inevitably will end up at Best Buy. We have a weekend of activity coming. I need a minimouse for the new laptop.
I bought the model of laptop this week as there were only 4 of that model and then they are gone, Windows 8 will take all the slots soon.
So in the spirit of capitalism (yes, all us marxists*) can support the free markit one day. Your haul?
*my Finnish American libertarian friend is now defining anything associated with Obama or the government as marxist.

Re: Black Friday
I usually skip this, but I made friends with my new neighbor and she wants me to go with her this year. I'm reluctantly considering......

Not sure yet. She's going to make our schedule. I'm just along for the ride.

Did mine already at Home Depot, they started early. Got almost $3000 off new appliances for the kitchen remodel. I'm chuffed.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Sure, then leave the credit card home, spend only cash.Kristie wrote:Not sure yet. She's going to make our schedule. I'm just along for the ride.
For the Europeans: black friday is a week from now. Report will follow. Or else I don't go, just give the daughter cash. But she can take mom as credit card.

Re: Black Friday
I recently spent $1300 on computers and just this week spent $500 on books and movies. (I think I deserve a time-share in Japan for my lifetime contributions to the economy.)
There's nothing I need or want to buy, but wandering around with my sisters on Black Friday is one of the few examples of "quality time" I get with them anymore.
(I've still got a picture frame that I bought last year which I haven't filled yet. On the other hand, my desk and bookshelves are populated by little plastic animals and dragons I bought. Joy!)

I'll be in Connecticut visiting my parents for Thanksgiving weekend, and they've got a huge mall near them. I'll probably end up going just so we have something to do with the kids - they like the play area there. But if they think we're waiting in line to see Santa on that day, they can think again.

I'm sure that will go over well.

You're going to go to a mall on Black Friday? That's suicide! Especially with kids!Ian wrote:I'll be in Connecticut visiting my parents for Thanksgiving weekend, and they've got a huge mall near them. Re: Black Friday
Went to one of those a couple of years ago, and when I got to the item I wanted, they were sold out because they only had 4 in stock at the advertised price. Learned my lesson...if you can't get to the front of the line, might as well sleep in.
If you don't like being called "stupid", then stop saying stupid things.

Re: Black Friday
No thanks, I'd only go -maybe- if I were certain to save on some of the big purchases I want to make. Even then I'd have to fight my conscience which would be giving me shit all day for supporting Black Friday.
