Yeah, he's a special kkkind of person, for sure. His soulmates hung a black man and left him for me to see out the window of my school bus one time when I was six. They never did apologize to his widow for getting the wrong man. (His crime was talking to a white woman. Nothing else, just talking.)Red Celt wrote:From the above, I'm assuming that Ty's specialty is black people. Silly boy.Gawdzilla Sama wrote:Some are generic, some are special.Red Celt wrote:Tsk. Yeah, there's even pictures of it somewhere on the internet. Dead guy swinging, buncha smug bastards standing around smiling. If my sperm donor had been more of a joiner he'd probably have been a Klu Klux Klown. Too lazy however.

I found it interesting because it is so unlike what we tend to believe Neanderthal was like. I don't think neanderthal was that ape like in appearance, but the author does make some good points in his video that we probably have skewed too many homo-sapien like characteristics to neanderthal. Dog breeds are very varied in physical attributes, but not so varied in the basic genome. That makes me think that gene expression instead of gene mutations can be responsible for far more variety than we give it credit for.Red Celt wrote:This? Again? I saw it shared about 2 or 3 years ago... and mocked it back then. It's a nonsense. It's "hey, guys, what if..." instead of actual science. As a non-scientist I saw flaws in it back then, so I'd hate to see what someone would do to it - if they actually had some scientific knowledge about the Neanderthals.
They were a very close relation to us, with common ancestors a short period of time (in evolutionary terms) previously. We bred with them; that's how similar they were to us. This... all a load of hooky nonsense that might be entertaining as a movie franchise.
But for the love of all that is holy, don't treat it as real.
The below video is a discussion on how turning certain genes back "on" could turn a chicken into a passable dinosaur. Humans may still have a similar amount of dormant genes that if turned on could radically change our physiology. It wouldn't be much of a genetic change if Neanderthal were hairy like humans suffering from werewolf disease, and being a cold adapted species it could even be likely.
Oh, and I'll try not to be racist in this thread, so knock of the trolling everyone. It's an interesting though a bit extreme theory on neanderthal appearance. He's probably right in that we do assume too much of a modern human appearance without having the facts to back it up.
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.
