LOL -- I know, I know - you need time to come up with a new line to make it easy for you to avoid thinking.

If you say something worth responding too I'll put out some effort as well. Until you do, fuck off.

Coito, do you not think Bush destroyed the economy? If you do, then what do you think should be done to fix it, and what would a reasonable time frame be to accomplish the goal? It just seems odd to me that Republican policies ruined the economy, but then Republicans* complain that Obama isn't fixing it, or fixing it fast enough, while simultaneously cock-blocking his every attempt to do so
If you don't think Bush and his failed policies destroyed the economy, what do you think did?

*Though I'm not sure you're a Republican. You might be more of an independent?
People think "queue" is just "q" followed by 4 silent letters.

But those letters are not silent.

They're just waiting their turn.

I'm not at all, actually. I watched the results until I was pretty sure of the outcome, then I went to bed and slept soundly. I awoke early in the morning, and as I suspected would happen, the sun rose shortly thereafter and the world was evidently still turning. And, 'zilla was still here on Rationalia for me to poke with a stick.

Oh, it's very easy to take the piss. But the real winner from this election is actually Coito ergo sum.

I just read in the Financial Times that he is now the biggest world player in the cattle-feed/bedding industry.

He apparently hung on to all of those straws that he grasped in the last month.

Respect !!

That's an overly simplistic way to view it. It was not exclusively Republican policies that ruined the economy, as we have had Republican and Democrat Presidents and Congresses, and Republican and Democrat Congresses over the last few decades, and they are all to blame. Much of what set us up for the real estate bubble bursting in 2007ish were not "Republican policies" per se - the Democrats had a huge hand in there, creating the subprime market. They did so with some good intentions, of course, wishing to help make home ownership easier.

I am not a Republican, and I am an independent, because neither party represents more than 1/2 of my views.

So, what should have been done differently? Several things -- In doing the "stimulus" in 2009, he should not have delegated the doling out of stimulus money to Congressional democrats, who obviously distributed it out to cronies. Instead, he could have drawn up his own plan that relied more on large, quick payroll tax cuts rather than the ”shovel ready” infrastructure projects that, as Obama later expressly stated, weren’t shovel ready and (in the case of home-weatherization efforts) were delayed most of the year while bureaucrats figured out how to apply union-backed “prevailing wage” regulations. And, he should not have allowed States to use the Stimulus aid to state and local governments to pay down state and local debt -- the reason being is that if you're going to get any bang for Stimulus buck at all, then it needs to go into the working economy to build stuff.

He should have supported business and industry more, by, say, not going after Boeing airlines, the US's biggest exporter of aircraft. He should not have gone after the coal industry, and he should have allowed the US to increase its basis in domestic fuel source production.

He should have taken drastic measures to cut spending so we bit the bullet, and got our fiscal house in order to reduce deficits.

Things like that.

The problem with pointing the finger at one, however, is that it incorrectly ignores the effect of policies put forth by the other.

And on the other hand, you have the Republican candidate.
