I'm not racialist since I don't have any vested interest in the survival of the human species as a whole one way or another. Reducing the overall population and the damage to the biosphere is important to me. There are very few worlds known to host complex life and it is clear human activity is putting this one at risk. Not true we would not be able to have 5000 calories a day lard arse meals every day but we would have no problems in surviving with rationing. People in the UK were never more healthy than during WW2 due to this and that was with 1940's agriculture. Britain was short of tanks not food during the period

Wait.. wut? Supposedly immigrants keep flooding into your country and getting jobs. If this is true your economy should be booming. Also how are they 'stealing' jobs away from proper Brits, Welshies, Scots, or whatevers? Are they more skilled? Is the skill set they bring more suited to the job market? It doesn't make sense unless there are no regulatory statutes regarding wages and benefits in the UK.

The UK minimum wage is below the poverty level - the poverty level in the West. But for folks from Bongo Bongo land (legal or not) the same wages are like it's Xmas everyday because living in a shithole in the UK eating own turds is still better than doing same at "home".

What the last labour Govt did was indirectly subsidise business by topping up the starvation wages of the workers, which resulted in profits for businesses that were not in reality actually profitable - at the cost of endless borrowing for Govt Debt, the catch being that the Debt was to be repaid by those working on below poverty wages.....the economists amongst you may see a slight problem with that idea .

The short term a good idea - long term not such a bright idea.......especially in an economy based on endless consumerism (I think the penny is starting to drop - folks ain't spending like they used to not because they are being more prudent but because they have not got the money - and likely won't have again to the same degree as the previous decade or so).
