Uh ... since when does Ireland have US military bases?

Well, to be fair we have "The South" and "Yankees" (sometimes "damn Yankees", "Yankee Scum" or "Carpetbaggers")

American by birth, Southern by the Grace of God. Yee haw.
Yeah well that's just, like, your opinion, man.

You need to learn yourself some history before you come here next month. There may be a few "decommissioned" IRA surface to air missiles aimed at Rudolf & Co. ...

I think the Irish Republican Army has decided to change its name to the Irish Grand Old Party Army.

 Right ye are, Christy.

The USA may stage through Shannon (and Knock for all I know), but they don't have a base there in the normal sense of the word.

Well, it IS confusing :prof:

From memory, let's see if I can get it right :thinks:

Great Britain: The main island of the British Isles and smaller surrounding islands, comprised of England, Scotland, and Wales.
Britain: All the British Isles, it includes Ireland and Great Britain.
U.K.: Great Britain plus Northern Ireland. Has the status of "country"
England: The part of Great Britain not called Scotland and Wales :{D . A separate country, but also part of the country of the U.K.
Wales: A country on the western part of Great Britain, but also part of the country of the U.K.
Scotland: A country on the northern part of Great Britain, but also part of the country of the U.K.
Ireland: The big island to the NW of Great Britain
Northern Ireland: The NE part of Ireland that is part of the U.K.
Crown Colonies: Too complicated, but mostly those non-Great Britain areas that have the Queen on their money :hehe:

Does the main island without the surrounding islands even have an official name?
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

... if the Royal Navy still exists. It might be reduced to this:
