Refuse what?
Libertarianism: The belief that out of all the terrible things governments can do, helping people is the absolute worst.

one of those days - part of the appeal of the rephrasing of Seth's diatribe is it has got some pun elements which automatically jar the meaning.

What I've found with a few discussions I've had lately is this self-satisfaction that people express with their proffessed open mindedness. In realty it ammounts to wilful ignorance and intellectual cowardice as they are choosing to not form any sort of opinion on a particular topic. Basically "I don't know and I'm not going to look at any evidence because I'm quite happy on this fence."

On the other hand, the spectacle of it, the sounds, would have been something to behold.
I'm torn.
Loaded would be better. Imagine....

That's just stupid. They could smelt them down and recover the high grade materials in them without rolling over them with a packer.

You mean like make plowshares and stuff ? not a bad idea ......
RANCHO CUCAMONGA -- About 8,000 firearms - many taken from criminals - were delivered to a Rancho Cucamonga mill Thursday, ready to be melted and turned into something more productive.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department teamed with Gerdau Steel Mill in Rancho Cucamonga for the 19th annual "Project Isaiah," in which confiscated firearms are melted into steel reinforcing bars (rebar).
The project name is taken from the biblical passage about turning weapons into plowshares for peace.
Every year the steel mill donates its furnace, equipment and personnel to melt down the weapons, authorities said.
Some of the 10 tons of weapons were confiscated and had been held as evidence, said a sheriff's representative.
"This is just one way to take a destructive weapon and turn it into something positive for society," said L.A. County sheriff's spokeswoman Nicole Nishida. "Now they can be a small part of the foundation holding our community together."

Or whatever. The steel used in firearms is high quality and worth reclaiming if you're going to go about destroying them.
