So-- still grey and breezy, like last time. No rain. Stores have empty shelves.

People around here don't seem too worried-- we're on the highest ground in Manhattan, pretty far from Coney Island and evacuation zones.

I'll keep my fingers crossed. It may not be rational, but I have a fear of tempting fate.

We'll fill the bathtub after Sprog has his tour in the tub tonight. Otherwise-- supplies have been gotten (couldn't find kerosene, though-- only shabbas lamp oil. We didn't think that was the same, and neither of us read Hebrew, so...) , laundry's done. Our windows have bars, so I'm not too worried about flying dbris. Plus we have drapes.

Other than only having the one escape route (our apartment door to the lower courtyard-- no windows, because of the bars.) I feel like we're in a good spot-- pre-war building, bottommost floor, with one wall running along bedrock.
