As a Plantagenet I'm inclined to invade those rebellious Scots, violently oppress them, and claim 'first rights' on all their women. As a Lindsay, however, I'm inclined to remove my pants and underwear, gird my kilt about my loins, and get piss drunk.
I'm a house divided.
So gird your loins and get piss drunk on English ale ?

Is there really that much passion, some people in Scotland want indepenence, some don't , but most of the rest of the UK don't care either way?. This isnt the Balkans
You missed out the anti-Scots and how Scots are meant to ignore their inbuilt snark. Or the people who are incapable of seeing past stereotypes of fish suppers and porridge.
I like fish suppers and porridge.

The term is "diaspora". You are a Scotsman living in France, no?
A rational skeptic should be able to discuss and debate anything, no matter how much they may personally disagree with that point of view. Discussing a subject is not agreeing with it, but understanding it.

My 1715 ancestor was Scottish. His children were French like his wife.

Hades, I can see how all of this might seem funny - from the outside looking in.
But Scotland is a country that you're born in and seek to leave if you want to prosper. The recently-mentioned "diaspora" can be aptly used on the Scots that populate the various parts of the world. It's time that the situation was changed. Those who don't want Scotland to improve are represented by the anti-Scots who are adding their hatred to this thread.
From the inside looking out, none of this is funny. And fuck those who want to keep Scotland as a little play-thing; a keepsake that acts as a comfort-blanket for the Little Englanders who miss the days of empire.

Well, Viva La France!
Unsurprisingly, I'm a Marine Le Pen fan too

And a Jobbik and Golden Dawn supporter for any Hungarians or Greeks out there.

Sorry I was a bit short earlier. I should have taken another approach as hades' mood is usually mine as well.

Give the English an English Parliament, and drastically curtail the UK's parliamentary powers.
Why would an English Parliament be a win for the BNP, compared to a UK Parliament?
Proportionally, there are more bigoted, xenophobic (/wave Huxley) thugs in England than in England and Scotland combined. They'd have a bigger share of the voting public.
